Permission to Savor

$250.00
Sold Out

There's a tree on the property.

It stands sturdy and tall.

It watches over the lake and catches the sunsets.

The tree doesn't care what season it is.

Or if I'm there to notice it.

It's been there long before my words and worries shared space with it.

It weathers icy storms as easily as it bathes in the summer heat.

And still, somehow, relishes in the beauty of its surroundings.

Like it was the first time it's ever seen it.

When I deny myself time to savor, I withhold the joy of remembering that I was here.

Original Watercolor, 11” x “14

This work comes framed with a white mat border that is 16”x 20” in size.

Hands are my favorite subject to paint. They carry so much—gesture, emotion, intention. But for me, they also carry a burden. Living with chronic conditions like endometriosis means some days, my hands don’t feel strong enough to hold it all. Not the symptoms. Not the schedules. Not the fear. And yet—somehow they do. They stretch, soothe, cook, create. They help me keep going. Painting hands is how I honor their quiet strength—and my own. I surround them with botanicals as a symbol of healing and growth. Even in the midst of pain. Art helps me make sense of what feels totally impossible. I just want to keep reaching for health. 🌿 I’m heading to my old stomping grounds this weekend for the 36th Manayunk Arts Festival. Feels like a perfect chance to reconnect with old friends and soak up a little summer magic in the city. ✨ Manayunk Arts Festival 📍 Main Street, Philadelphia, PA 🗓️ J#beautyinthehardstuff 🍺 Find me right out front of Manayunk Brewing Company @manayunkdotcom #HealingHandsl #ArtAsTherapy #PaintingThroughPain #RaynaudsAndResilience #BeautyInTheHardStuff
