Matcha

$45.00

My Matcha is special.

Matcha tea nourished me through a long-healing diet when I wasn’t properly absorbing nutrients from my food.

Drinking this special tea became a ritual of warmth, flavor, and color.

Not long into my healing journey, my husband and I adopted a black Havanese rescue pup.

Watching his rich, dark hair playing in the bright green grass reminded me of the matcha tea powder often scattered across our black kitchen countertops - an inevitable mishap on busy mornings!

I had to name our new dog Matcha.

Colors are so powerful.

And my Matcha is now a symbol of hope, strength, and calm.

Digital reproduction of original artwork by Emily Knabb.

Image size 8in x 10in. Matted to 11in x 14in.

Standard sizes make it easy to pop right into a frame and up onto your wall in no time.

Framing day....the final glow-up. The part where I wrestle with tape, corners, and my perfectionism. But once it’s behind the glass? Magic. Pure, finished, gallery-ready magic. Real talk... Let’s talk about art show prep. It’s not just pretty paintings and packing tape—it's a whole operation. Once the paint is dry and the signatures are sealed. I celebrate with a happy dance. But then the hustle kicks in. Framing. Wiring. Typing and printing tags. Dusting off my art booth. And playing Tetris with my car to see which paintings want to come along for the ride. What you don’t always see? The behind-the-scenes work it takes to care for me, too. I live with autoimmune conditions. So I also prep food, pack supplements, choose ultra-comfy clothes, and plan for recovery days. Because art shows are big-energy events. Beautiful and meaningful? Yes. But also a full-body, full-heart kind of experience. Even with all the planning, I’d do it again and again. Because sharing this work, this healing, this part of me with you. Is something I don't want to miss. I'm gearing up for my first outdoor show of the season at Verona Park, NJ next weekend. Wish me luck! 🎨 What: Verona Park Art Show 🚗 Where: 475 Bloomfield Ave, Verona, NJ 07044 📅 When: May 17th and 18th from 10-5pm 😎 Find Me: Booth 201 🎨 Show Info: https://rosesquared.com/verona-park/artists/ @rosesquared #watercolor #artshow #rosesquared #rosesquaredartshows #healing #autoimmunedisease #planningforsuccess

I used to struggle with reading as a kid. Chapter books without pictures left me totally lost. I wasn’t disinterested—I was a visual thinker. Craving color, shape, movement. It’s no surprise that art became the way I connect with students who feel like I once did. Yesterday, I had the honor of speaking at the Alumni Reunion Brunch at Moore College of Art & Design— the welcoming place where I earned my first master’s degree in the early days of teaching. I showed up excited to share and connect with art teachers. And I left feeling super inspired. Reinvigorated by the incredible possibilities Moore is opening up in the world of art. I’m grateful for a community that truly sees me— and welcomes the voice I’ve worked hard to find. #MooreCollegeOfArt #AlumniLove #ArtistJourney #CreativeLife #ArtAndStory #VisualThinker #WatercolorArtist
